The proposal was perfect. He pulled me aside in church on Sunday and said that he had something planned to show me how much he loved me. I was going to get into my car and I was going to get a package to open that would contain instructions that I was to follow. I went home and changed clothes and opened the present to find a tape recorder, a CD with our picture on the case, and a package of MnM's. He sent me on a scavenger hunt to several places that have been significant in our relationship. My first destination was where we first met. On the tape he told me what he remembered and what he thought of me when he first saw me.

The next destination was at a place where we had one of the best conversations we've had. Deep feelings were shared as well as past experiences that we've realized have led us to each other. I then went to the Chinese Buffet where we ate dinner on our first date. I had to go inside to retrieve my present. The workers were all smiles when I walked in and told them that package was for me.

The last place I was sent to was his house. On his garage door there was a sign that said to come in and go downstairs. I heard music and saw him standing in the middle of the room when I walked in. He was wearing the same shirt that he'd worn on our first date. The music from the CD he made was playing in the backgroud and he asked me if I would like to dance. We danced to Garth Brook's song, "To Make You Feel My Love". He told me that he just wanted to do something to show me how much he loved me. I thought to myself, "Is that it? Wait, is he going to propose? Wow, if this is just to show me how much he loves me, then what is the proposal going to be like?" Then he said, "Oh, and before I forget......(then he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket) Amanda Lynn Standiford, will you marry me?" I immediately started crying and said Yes! It was a perfect moment that I'll always remember. I think the part I'll remember the most is the fact that it took so much thought and preparation on his part. He truly did want to show me how much he loves me. Little does he know that he does that every day.
