Home, Home on the Range

Chris' family is originally from WY and eastern UT. We had a second reception out in Evanston, WY and had somewhat of a second honeymoon. We flew into Salt Lake City and got to Chris's grandma and grandpa's house at about 11 pm on Wednesday. We hadn't eaten in 12 hours so we went straight to the dinner table!

The next morning we woke up a little early to start a lengthy but beautiful four hour drive to Rexburg, ID. I graduated from BYU-I in Rexburg and Chris's best friend and former mission companion, Jason, lived there. We had a TON of fun there.

On the way to Rexburg, Chris was very excited to get some cheese curds from the Star Valley Cheese Factory. He'd had them as a kid and were pretty popular around the area. I have to admit, the cheese curds were really good.....and I'm not a huge cheese fan.

We met up with Jason for lunch and he drove us back to the farm where he works. We had a little more adventure than we thought we would on the way to the farm.

We were stopped at a stop light when a girl (who we later found out was texting) ran into the back of us. It did hardly anything to Jason's truck, but his hitch on the back of his car punctured her radiator....or actually her parent's radiator. Yikes! At first we thought she was going to be a hit and run, but she was just pulling in front of us. Not sure why...but ohwell.
Well, after the police report and all, we went on our way. The farm was so cool!! This day, Jason's job was to pump some excess water out of the potato crop to the other side of the road. Jason was getting down in the mud without a second thought.

Chris wanted a little of the action too.

When we went back to town, I was showing Chris around campus and found out that my best friend Amber was in town! We visited her and her new husband for a little while, which was so great!

Later that night, we went skeet shooting. I shot a shotgun for the very first time. Actually, I shot a gun for the first time ever! It was a little scary but I felt safe with Chris right behind me.

We didn't get back to Evanston until 3 am. We were super tired and it was pretty hard to keep our eyes open!

The next day we went around town and visited different places that were significant to Chris's family. One of the places we went was Bear River Park. They had a couple Elk in a fenced area and a beautiful creek.

Then on Saturday, we spent the day getting ready for our reception. It was so fun and was so cute! It had a western theme to it with horseshoes, sunflowers and red checkered table cloths. I was lucky enough to my very good friends Natalie and Jordan come to the reception in WY. I was able to go to their reception in April of 08. I'm so grateful they came! It was nice to see familiar faces!

Wyoming was such a beautiful place! It was a great trip and I was so grateful to be able to celebrate my marriage twice! I hope that this was only one of many many fond memories I'll have with my wonderful husband!
